Best wishes for a safe, happy, and healthy Memorial Day!
We had a nice picnic yesterday at Gary and Sue's. The weather cooperated so that we could enjoy the day (though not much sun). At least the storms held off until later that night.
The food - amazing as always. Gary and Sue had his beer brats, regular brats, and hot dogs for the kids ready. Gary had cherry pie, pecan pie, raisin pie, and french silk chocolate pie. To go with that there was potato salad, fruits (grapes, strawberries, apples, pineapple), veggies (carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes), 5 different kinds of cheese, chips (3 kinds), banana dessert, beans (another of Gary's items - included lots of bacon, a bit of liquid smoke, and some other things), and lots more. It was quite a spread!
It was a lot of fun to see the little ones. First - the new baby - tiny little Isaiah who is so small he'd fit into a good size shoe box. He's like lifting a bag of flour (the small size). It's amazing how tiny the little ones are when they are born (I certainly can't remember that! :) Anyway, he didn't make a peep but seemed quite content. Reagan continues to grow up very quickly. She likes to talk and make noises. :) Jarren made me a cup of tea on the little toy kitchen set and also I had a rather nice apple pie thanks to his imaginary cooking skills. :) Braelyn was sleeping when we got there so she was well rested when she did get up. We often don't get to see her long hair down but she seems to have some natural curl and it's very pretty. Lexis was quite a busy body. She seems to fly from one thing to the next. Lots of hugs for everyone. :)
Sue's mother and aunt were there. As well as her sister and her boyfriend. Kristin is out of state but Kari was there. Then Kathy and Tim, Sarah, Joe, and the 3 of us. We had a nice visit. Gary set up the pictures they took on their Florida trip on the TV so we had a slide show which was very nice.
Different vehicles...well I got to ride in Sue's newer car (a nice car!) - Gary drove and it was Sarah, Braelyn, Lexis, and myself out for a quick tour of the neighborhood. In addition to Sue's car, there was a different vehicle for Kathy and Tim. Tim sold his "little truck" and they bought (at trade in price) his parent's old navy colored Chrysler van. It's a very nice van though Tim said that his "parents were trying to hint that they wanted more grandchildren" when they sold it to them. :)
Other than that - well I'd better get going. Lots that I want to get done today yet!
Take care!
