Hello,
Temperature outside is at 25 degrees F. Wind chills bring it to about 19 degrees F. That's according to the Weather Channel.
A good day today - at least it will be if all goes as planned. Christi, Matt, and I (also Carmen) will have a day of rest and relaxation before Christi leaves. Daisy has a vet appointment this morning so we'll be out and about for that and then it's packing, resting (much needed in a house where everyone is coughing, sniffling, etc), and other stuff. Original plan was to visit Monnie, Merle & Ev, and Dad & Gloria but with everyone here feeling under the weather (all right Matt is more than a bit!) it seems logical not to try and inflict the flu bug on others. It is a bummer though as I look forward to visiting Monnie, Merle, and Ev and having Ev's fudge and listening to stories of the family. We may try and do it yet but right now it doesn't seem prudent.
It's been a rather strange week. I have too much vacation time built up and I'd lose it if I didn't use it before the end of the year. So - I've taken the whole week off to be with family and help Christi get ready to leave. All right - I confess Daisy and I've been stopping down in the early morning to check on things at the office - but only for about 30 minutes or less and only before everyone gets there. That seems to work well though as then I can kind of keep caught up on things. I'll be back at work on January 3.
Christi leaves for her trip tomorrow. Time seems to have flown by trying to get things done for the holidays and things and we're now at the point where she's almost ready to go. It's such a contrast to when Matt left and he was packing at 6 in the morning and we were leaving at 7. Now there are lists on top of lists and things ready to go now. Tomorrow at 6 we leave, at about 7 we're at Christi's house for a few last minute move out things (much of the larger stuff will stay), at 8 we're at Perkins for breakfast, then at 10 she boards the bus to head to the airport. It will be a sad occasion but it should be such a good experiance for her.
Other than that - my classes don't start again until January 5th. I'll confess that I'm having a bit of withdrawal right now as I do miss them. Next course is Financial Management (a dreaded math intensive course) where I'm really going to have to work hard.
Well - I'd better get going as there's a whole day full of things that should be done. At least they are things here at home mostly that are easy and not stressful.
